Smoked Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings Recipe



2-3 Onions
3-4 packages of Bacon
Favourite BBQ dry rub
Favourite BBQ sauce
Skewers or tooth picks


  1. Preheat smoker to 135°C
  2. Slice onions into 2.5 cm thick rings. Remove layers to make ring shape to desired thickness (1-2 layers).
  3. Wrap bacon around onion ring and secure with skewer.
  4. Season to taste with your favourite dry rub.
  5. Place in smoker for 40 mins.
  6. To take this recipe up a notch:
    – Remove from smoker and brush on your favourite barbecue sauce.
    – Put back in smoker and turn Grill + Finish element to High. Let BBQ sauce caramelize for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Remove from smoker and enjoy!
